To create an internet service that delivers faith messages to a wide age group under the vision statement ‘faith on the move’.
Our ethos is that a mobile phone is just another medium via which to access the internet and this concept runs throughout our work for Ecumen. Any piece of content available via fixed line internet can be accessed by consumers on their mobile phones.
From the outset, GraphicoDMG knew that there was a need to create a scalable solution as Ecumen was testing the business model prior to rolling out the concept across other areas.
One of the things that makes the Ecumen site different is the content – all of which offers users inspiration, support or connection with their faith during their day wherever they are.
The services on offer include one for a daily prayer another a reading and, in addition, there are wallpapers, ringtones, games and applications - and a downloadable bible … purported to be the only read-in-the-dark bible!
All content meets high standards not only in terms of its delivery but also its content – for example it is guaranteed to be free of offensive images, sounds or words.
Ecumen’s internet offering has been created in a modular way which means that the client has a flexible tool allowing them to add, remove and change any piece of content immediately using the CMS.
Whatever device is used to view we’ve ensured the site, it looks good and is easy to navigate. As it is very easy to make changes to it, regular additional content means the site always appears fresh and inviting.
Because the site, whether viewed via web or WAP, was created using one CMS they work as one entity.
The Ecumen service is live where the most active client is United Christian Broadcast and has been used to prove the concept.
The Ecumen ‘system’ is now being marketed to third party users such as a faith based broadcaster and community groups, who will launch sites with both shared and unique content as well as shared and bespoke applications.
GraphicoDMG also provides the helpdesk facility for users whether they access the site using their mobile or their PC.
